The front page has "An Act" which says underneath: "To authorise the issuing of treasury notes for the service of the year one thousand eight hundred and fourteen", signed in type: James Madison. Also, there is a report under "National Birthday Celebrations...At Washington".
Page 2 has a "Declaration" about the possession of the island "Nooahheevah", signed in type: David Porter, plus a report: "Good News. Capture of Fort Erie--Defeat of the British at Chippewa".
Other news and advertisements of the day are included.
There is a small piece missing in the upper right corner of the second leaf. There is also occasional rubbing, a cut about 2 inches long between two columns and small, lite foxing.
