An inside page has reports under the heading: "America" with datelines of Philadelphia (see), and the same page has a note that a letter from Charleston informs: "That a body of 34 Cherokee Indians...on their return home were attacked by a body of the Shawanese Indians who were at war with them...After a smart engagement the Cherokees...were at last overpowered by superior forces who scalped and killed the whole party... (see)."
The facing page has a letter written by Ben Franklin, headed "Philadelphia" & which begins: "I have often heard it remarked that our colonies in North America were unhealthy & Unfavourable to long life..." but what follows is an account of the first-born of the city of Philadelphia who died at the age of 85 (see photos). This article is signed: "F + S", ascribed to Benjamin Franklin as noted in: "The Writings of Benjamin Franklin, Volume III" (see the link)
The balance of the issue is taken up with various reports from Europe from just 8 years before the outbreak of the Revolutionary War. Many advertisements as well.
Complete in 8 pages, measures 8 1/2 by 11 inches, very nice condition.
