August 20, 1934
THE NEW YORK TIMES, New York City, New York, August 20, 1934

* Adolph Hitler gains total supremacy...
* Al Capone goes to Alcatraz...

This 30 page newspaper has a three line, three column headline on the front page: "HITLER ENDORSED BY 9 TO 1 IN POLL ON HIS DICTATORSHIP, BUT OPPOSITION IS DOUBLED" with subheads that include: "Absolute Power Is Won" "Negative Count is Larger in Districts of Business Men and Intellectuals" and more. Also another heading on the front page reads: "Hitler Now World's Supreme Autocrat; Legally Answerable to Nobody for Acts".

Reporting continues on page five with a nice two column photo of Adolph Hitler. Also a front page report of Al Capone being transferred to the new Alcatraz prison.

Other news of the day throughout. Light browning, otherwise in good condition.
