Booklet: "NEWSPAPERS ALONG AMERICA'S GREAT TRAILS" created by Bell & Howell Company, not dated but likely in the early 1970's.

* Uncommon reference booklet

This is an interesting booklet of 40 pages which lists the earliest newspapers published in the various states along the famous trails, specifically the Wilderness Road, Mohawk Trail, Lancaster Pike, Forbes Road, Natchez Trace, Cumberland Road, Santa Fe Trail, Chisholm Trail, Lewis & Clark Expedition, Oregon Trail, Pony Express--49ers, Pike Explorations, and the Spanish Trail, as noted in the table of contents.

The listings are by state and include the newspaper titles and their years of existence. A nice reference work in early newspaper printing during the westward expansion of America.

A stain on the front cover otherwise very nice condition.
