THE EDINBURGH EVENING COURANT, Scotland, January 10, 1776

* Rare title during the revolutionary war
 

Two-thirds of the front page and a bit of page 2 are taken up with: "American Intelligence" "An Act for Encouraging the fitting out of armed vessels to defend the Sea Coast of America & for erecting a Court to try and condemn all Vessels that shall be found infesting the same." (see for portions).

Page 2 contains a very significant: "Proclamation" "By his Excellency the Hon. William Howe..." concerning persons who "...have lately absconded to join...his Majesty's enemies, assembled in open rebellion..." with more, dated at Boston, Oct. 28, 1775. This is followed by another How proclamation concerning those who leave Boston and take with them money (see).

The back page is entirely taken up with ads. 4 pages in good condition.

Complete in 4 pages, folio size measuring 11 by 17 inches, red tax stamp on the ftpg., very nice condition.
