THE SALINA JOURNAL,  Kansas, November 23, 1963  This black bordered issue features the banner headline: "Nation Mourns President" several subheads "Nab Slaying Suspect" "Body Flown To Capital" "The Mind Could Not Comprehend" "Connally Wounds Not Critical" "Who Will Be Democratic Nominee In '64?" Photos of President John F. Kennedy; Lyndon B Johnson, Lee H. Oswald; from the motorcade just prior and after the shooting; and of the assassin's gun are on the front page.
This is the front section of the issue, has five binding holes in the left spine margin, a mailing stamp at the top of the issue and a non-archival tape mend also at the top f the issue. (see photos for details)
