EVENING PRESS, Guernsey, May 14, 1945 The invasion of Guernsey Island is over! V-E Day has come and gone, and the last battle to be fought in Europe (the Battle of Poljana) will be over in less than 24 hours. This issue announces the end of the German occupation of Guernsey, and includes front page headings: "Invasion of Guernsey", "The King's Message and Proclamation by C.I. Commander", and more. A 3 1/2 by 6 1/2 inch image with the subtext "The historic scene at Elizabeth College... as the Channel Island's Commander, Brigadier Snow read the King's Message and his own Proclamation." The text of both are included - God Save The King! This is a great report to have in a Guernsey paper!
