A page 2 report datelined "Edinburg, June 28", stating that: "D. John Revere...received the diploma of Doctor of Medicine in the University of this city"
This was the son of Paul Revere, the famous American patriot. John Revere, Paul's youngest child, achieved fame of his own as one of the most prominent physicians of the day. According to an internet source he was also an original faculty member of the medical school of the University of the City of New York, the forerunner of the New York University School of Medicine
He also held the school's first chair in the theory and practice of medicine. Today there is a John Revere Society, a group of friends of the NYU Medical Center who provide financial support for the institution.
