EVENING PRESS, Island of Guernsey, April 27, 1942 This is a fascinating newspaper as the Channel Islands, which include Guernsey, were under Nazi control early in WWII given their location off the coast of France. Although printed in English because Guernsey residents were British, the bias is entirely pro-Nazi.
Most of the ftpg. is taken up with: "The Fuehrer Speaks: HERR HITLER ASSUMES SUPREME COMMAND, Heralds Final Blow in Britain's Downfall". The text begins with a quote by Adolph Hitler: "Britain can win nothing in this war. She will lose, and this fact will be recorded in her history. The destiny of peoples and states should be entrusted neither to cynical drunkards nor to the feeble-minded; in this conflict Germany will be victorious..." with more (see photos for portions), including much antisemitic rhetoric.
Also on the ftpg. is: "Low Altitude Raids on Bath"..
The issue is coplete in 4 pgs., 4 small binding holes at the blank spine margin, measures 12 by 17 inches, great condition.
