THE POST-BOY, London, August 3, 1728
* Early 18th century pirate execution
* Rare title
* Nice masthead
Not only does this issue have a terrific masthead which is nice for display (see the two intricate engravings) but this issue has a neat and uncommon report on the back page about a pirate who was executed, reading: "John Prie, lately condemn'd at a session of Admiralty for murder and pyracy on the High Seas, was executed yesterday at Execution dock, and afterward hang'd in chains by the River-Side (see photos)"
Other news of the day. Two nice engravings in the masthead.
The issue measures about 9 by 15 inches, has a full red tax stamp on the back page. Single sheet, and in great condition.
