* Monitor vs. Merrimac naval battle - Chattanooga Tennessee TN - Brunswick Georgia GA and more
* Original Civil War era complete issue w/ MAP on cotton & rag paper
* The War Against Slavery, Abraham Lincoln's War, the 2nd War For Independence
The front page features a quite large map with a large head: "ANOTHER NEW REBEL GIBRALTAR. Chattanooga & Its Surroundings---The Natural Strength of the Place---Its Value in a Strategic Point of View--The Railroad & Water Communications, etc.".
Plus there are related one column heads as well, with much text on the Civil War. Page 3 has a huge Civil War map taking over half the pg., headed: "THE CAPTURE OF FERDANDINA & BRUNSWICK" with related subheads, showing from Savannah to just south of St. Augustine, Florida (see photos).
Plus half of pg. 7 is taken up with much reporting on the historic naval battle between the Monitor & the Merrimac, with heads including: "THE GREAT NAVAL CONFLICT" "Desperate Struggle of the Iron-Clad Gunboats" "Triumph of the Ericsson Battery Monitor" "Outside Appearance of the Monitor and Merrimac" and much more (see).
As if all this was not sufficient, pg. 10 includes two several engravings showing both the Monitor and the Merrimac & two smaller cross sections of them (see photos) with even further text on this naval battle.
