May 05, 1863
THE NEW YORK HERALD, from New York, New York, dated May 5, 1863

* Full page Virginia map (uncommon) - Fredericksburg VA and more
* Original Civil War era complete issue w/ HUGE MAP on cotton & rag paper
* The War Against Slavery, Abraham Lincoln's War, the 2nd War For Independence

A terrific issue for display, as the entire front page -- from top to bottom -- is taken up with a huge map headed:

* IMPORTANT MILITARY OPERATIONS IN VIRGINIA. The Seat of War from the Rappahannock to the Nansemond and Blackwate

which has tremendous detail, showing from Harper's Ferry south to Hicksford and from Stanton east to the Chesapeake Bay (see photos).

There is much Civil War reporting on the inside pages, including heads: "The Latest from Gen. Hooker's Army" "The Second Battle of Fredericksburg" "Terrific Rebel Attack on the Extreme Right" and much more (see).

This is a complete issue in 12 pages, slightly irregular at the blank spine margin, generally in very nice, displayable condition. See photos for details.
