THE GENTLEMAN'S MAGAZINE, London, England, October, 1742.

* Nice Prague Czech Republic map

The prime feature of this issue is the nice foldout plate which measures 12 1/4 by 14 inches. The plate includes a nice: "Plan of the City of Prague, with the French and Austrian Camps", as well as a nice engraving showing both: "The City of Egra" and the: "Southern View of Prague" (see photos), with various portions of each labeled.

The map notes the Prague city walls, the “Old”, “New” and “Lesser City” as well as the Jewish ghetto, “Jews Town”. The plate also includes a nice print of: "Maria Teresa, Q. of Hungary" (see photos).

The plate has several folds and a library stamp on the blank reverse, otherwise is quite nice.

This issue has text relating to the map including: "Description of Prague" and "Description of Egra" (see photos for portions). Near the back is a report which includes: "Gen. Oglethorpe arrived here on the 6th...from St. Simons without the loss of a man. The same day the Creek Indians brought in five Spanish prisoners..." with much more (see photos).

Complete in 54 pgs. with full title/index page. Small library stamp at the bottom of 2 pages do not deter readability. There are no other maps or plates called for in this issue.
