Near the back of this issue is some great coverage of the naval battles of the War of 1812, with an item headed: "Decatur's Victory" signed in type by: James Madison, and including: "...from captain Decatur of the frigate 'United States' reporting his combat & capture of the British frigate Macedonian. Too much praise cannot be bestowed on that officer..." with more. Following this is a letter signed by Stephen Decatur concerning the battle, and the following page has most of the page taken up with an account of the battle between the ships Constitution and Guerriere, signed in type by: James R. Dacres. Other naval items in this issue as well. Complete in 16 pages, scattered foxing, generally nice. Measures about 6 1/2 by 10 1/2 inches.
