Tombstone, Arizona, in 1886...

Item # 217617

May 14, 1886

THE DAILY TOMBSTONE, Tombstone, Arizona, May 14, 1886  Here is a newspaper from perhaps the most famous town of the Old West era which has a nice back page advertisement for the O.K. Corral (shown in the inset). Has four pages containing various news of the day, plus bits of local news and many ads, all done in the typical Old West format. The year in the dateline is listed as 86 (the format used), although in the page 2 masthead it has 1886 which verifies the year.
The front page has an inked business stamp just to the right of the masthead, plus some offsetting in the lower half causing loss to a few adds, has various archival repairs and reinforcements on pages 2 and 4, is irregular at the outer margin of each leaf, somewhat pulpish here as well causing some minor flaking, is a bit irregular at the spine. A fine opportunity for great piece of Western Americana.
