Historical Background: The Hull ZR2 Air Disaster occurred on August 24, 1921 when the Royal Airship Works R38/ZR-2 crashed on a test flight in Hull, England with 49 passengers and crew on board. 43 passengers and crew and one passenger on the ground was killed. The crash is believed to been caused by a structural failure followed by two explosions.
