THE OBSERVER, AND WESTERN ADVERTISER, Lewisburg, Virginia, May 30, 1844 A volume I issue (number 12) of this uncommon title from a town that is now in West Virginia. Page 3 has a reward ad for "Two Negro Men, Jerry and Jack" that includes an engraving of a runaway (see photos).  A page 2 ad supports the Clay-Frelinghuysen ticket. Includes the names of the "Presidential Electors". Back page has lyrics: "Whig Song. Air--'Yankee Doodle.'" Archival mends to two minor tears at the spine, some lite staining in the upper and outer margins.
