DAILY DISPATCH, Richmond, Va., Aug. 22, 1861.
* Confederate Richmond VA
* 1861 Original
* 1st Year Of The War
From the first year of the Civil War, the front page of this issue has the Message of the Governor of North Carolina, much of it relating to the war situation. Page 2 has bills approved by the Confederate Congress, including: A Bill to aid the State of Missouri in repelling the invasion by the United States, and to authorize the admission of said State of America, and for other purposes. Also a detailed report: The Great Battle In Missouri Accounts From Both Sides. Much war-related content on page 3. Wear causes several small holes in the text of the governors message, archival mends to a few edge tears, a bit irregular at the spine, minor edge wear at the bottom of the first leaf, areas of very lite foxing, otherwise in good condition.
