* 1819 Yellowstone Expedition

A pg. 2 report from Jeffersonville says: "The U.S. Steamboat, Western Engineer, passed this place...on her way up the Missouri. There also passed on the same day, and were piloted over the falls, 9 keels, containing part of the expedition to the Yellow Stone under the command of Col. Atkinson, Capt. Foster, commanding a tenth keel...in company with the expedition and destined to the Falls of St. Anthony, for the purpose of establishing a post there." Other news of the day includes: "Emigration" "Thunder Storm" Separation Of Maine" and much more. Fold foxing on the front page, otherwise good. 4 pages untrimmed.
