PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER from Philadelphia PA and dated May 26, 1862. This
8 page newspaper is in nice condition (except for some margin wear with
a few minor tears) due to the use of cotton and rag paper during this
very historic time in U.S. history. This issue is loaded with
advertisements and Civil War reports throughout from the day it was
first reported which includes the following headlines: "The Army of
General McClellan Near Richmond" "A Fight near Ellison's Mills--The
Louisiana Tigers Badly Cut Up--70 Left Dead on the Field" "THE REBELS
THREATEN TO CROSS THE POTOMAC AT WILLIMASPORT AND HARPER'S FERRY" "The
President Takes Possession of all the Railroads in the United States"
"Com. Farragut Demands the Surrender of Vicksburg, Miss." "Reported
Capture of Weldon and Raleigh, North Carolina" and much more. A nice
piece of history from this famous newspaper.
