On the back page under Mormons are several detailed excerpts from a volume written by a topographical engineer who surveyed Utah and lived near the Mormons. Mormon related topics discussed include Polygamy, Settling Salt Lake Valley, Government and Number (The number of inhabitants settling in the valley). This issue also contains a great front page discussion concerning the qualifications of General Winfield Scott, including a letter signed in type, WINFIELD SCOTT. Some foxing, otherwise in good condition.
