DEMOCRAT AND AMERICAN, Manchester, N.H., Oct. 22, 1857 A page 3 item says:
"A Mormon conference...was held at Philadelphia...when it was
announced that the Saints would strike their flag, and give up all
hopes of converting the unbelieving, stiff-necked Gentiles in the
regions round about, to the belief of Joe Smith and Brigham Young.
Their publications have ceased, and and their conventicles have closed." Second leaf has two minor archival mends, irregular at the spine.
