June 17, 1859

(contains Marx article - price according to our formula) NEW-YORK TRIBUNE, June 17, 1859  Pg. 3 has a compelling letter to the editor headed: "Have We A State Religion?" Describes an incident in which a professor at the State Normal School who also taught a Bible Class was dismissed because it was determined "...that a change had taken place in his theological opinions--that he no longer believed in all the doctrines held in the church to which he had belonged." More about this interesting case and the usual arguments associated with this timeless issue.
