SALEM GAZETTE, Massachusetts, March 3, 1801 Brief item on page 3 mentions a letter from Montreal dated Dec. 26 which says: "We were lately alarmed here by the shock of an EARTHQUAKE, which is not very usual in this part of the World." Also a message to Congress, signed in type: John Adams. Bit irreg. at the top of the spine, area of lite foxing.
