GENTLEMAN'S MAGAZINE, London, September, 1777 Lengthy & very detailed letter taking nearly 3 pages, from Gen. Washington to Gen. Howe, signed in type: Geo. Washington, plus another shorter letter signed by him as well. The latter concerns a prisoner exchange of Gen. Prescott for Gen. Lee. "Account of American Affairs" includes several "Letters from Gen. Washington to the Congress on the Removal of the King's Troops from the Jerseys", datelined Middle Brook & Morristown. Plus a very historic: "Gen. Schyler's Letter to Gen. Washington", giving an Account of the Surrender of Ticonderoga", including a lengthy letter from Gen. St. Clair to Congress on Ticonderoga as well. Plus a letter signed by: J. Burgoyne, and a "Manifesto of Gen. Washington in Answer to Gen. Burgoyne's Proclamation", signed in type: George Washington. The issue is complete and in overall nice condition, but the issue was sewn-in, and has a resulting rough (minor) left spine (see images) with no loss of text or margin. There is also some close-trimming on a few pages, but it does not impact the key content. (see images). A wealth of reading in this issue!
