Harper's WEEKLY, from New York, dated January 2, 1869 The frontpage of the issue features a fullpage engraving 'A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year' which shows a full-figure Santa Claus carrying a Christmas tree. Inside the issue is a Winslow Homer fullpage 'Christmas Belles'. Another fullpage illustration is 'Home for the Holidays'. A fullpage features two half-page illustrations "The Christmas Tree" and "A Curious Custom Observed by the Greek Church in Russia". An article "Alaska Relics" also features a fullpage illustration as well. A page includes two illustrations "Lynch Law In Indiana - the vigilane Committee at Work at the New Albany Jail" and "View of Santa Catalina, District of Guantanamo, Cuba".
The issue is complete in 16 pages, in good condition, and contains additional prints and related text. See photos for details.
