Whipping post in New Castle, Delaware... Negro newsboys in Richmond...

HARPER'S WEEKLY, New York, December 12, 1868  The frontpage of this issue is of 'The Whipping Post and Pillory at New Castle, Delaware'.  An article "H. Rives Pollard" also features an illustration of him.  A nearly 1/2 page illustration entitled "Scene of the Philadelphia tragedy, Corner of Tenth and Pine Streets"  A halfpage 'Alaska--Interior of an Indian Hut'. A fullpage engraving shows a widow at a pawn shop handing over 'The Last Relic' of her husband. A halfpage illustration 'Santiago de Cuba' with text as well as a half-age illustration 'Burning of the Garroting Scaffold in Madrid'. 'Negro News-boys in Richmond Dividing their Profits' and a halfpage 'Footrace on 'Fashion Course', Long Island, November 23, 1868'. A fullpage features illustrations with text of "Dr. Abram N. Littlejohn, Protestant Episcopal Bishop of Long Island"; "A. Oakey Hall, Esq"; and "Professor Goldwin Smith, of Cornell University". Back page political cartoon.
Complete in 16 pages, in good condition, and contains additional prints and related text.
