The top of the first column is headed: "THE PRESIDENT DEAD" The Long Suffering Ended" "A Sudden and Painless Death" with additional subheads including: "A Painless Death" "Dread and Fear of the Last Hours" "The Death Unexpected By The Cabinet And The Physicians--The Alarming Symptoms Of Yesterday Morning Succeeded By A Period Of Greater Comfort--The Hour Of Death About Half-Past Ten At Night--A Quiet And Painless Passing Away."
