This small size newspaper began in 1811 and was a prime source for national political news of the first half of the 19th century.
One of the articles has a small head: "Slavery" and talks about other republics in the Western Hemisphere which have abolished slavery, and thoughts on America doing so as well. This text takes a full page (see for portions).
Another report with small head: "Florida" is concerning building a canal through the top of Florida.
Another report headed: "First Modern Written Constitution" is a letter to a Thomas Jefferson, with his response signed in type: Thomas Jefferson (see images).

Among the other reports in this issue are:
* "Latest of Gen. Lafayette"
* "Law of the United States" providing punishment for crimes against the United States, taking 3 1/2 pgs. & signed in type: James Monroe.
* "Republic of Mexico"

This issue is complete in 16 pages, measures about 6 1/4 by 9 3/4 inches and is in very nice condition.
