Although this article talks about the work of a "Professor Reuss", the inventor it apparently was actually referring to was named Philipp Reis. SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN SUPPLEMENT, New York, Sept. 7, 1878 This title was a totally separate, stand-alone publication from the more well-known SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN.  Having begun to report on the Centennial Exposition in 1876, its success caused it to continue as a weekly publication into the 20th century. Harper's Weekly, various dates from September 1, 1866 through November 18, 1876. This is a six issue set of Harper's Weekly containing various prints pertaining to events and/or buildings in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The set provides more than a 10% discount over purchasing the issues individually.  This is a great set of issues for anyone interested in Philadelphia, PA, early U.S. architecture, or U.S. history.
