Shortly before his execution Hamilton wrote his final words of thanks to many for how he was treated, printed here (see). It is signed in type: James Hamilton. The first attempt at the hanging failed, so he had to ascend the scaffold and submit himself to a second hanging. Four pages, some damp staining, good condition.
