Waud titled: "The First Vote", showing African-American men in line at the ballot box, the lead man depositing his vote. This print is in celebration of the Southern states aligning themselves under the reconstruction acts of Congress. Blacks would not receive the right to vote until the 15th Amendment would be ratified in Feb., 1870. There is a related article on pg. 2.
