Shown is an original & historic old newspaper, offered to enhance your collectible interest: THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, June 6, 1782 * Charleston, South Carolina * American Revolutionary War Page 6 has a full column headed: "America - From the South Carolina Gazette" which has various reports from the South, including an item from Charleston: "...fell in with a patrol of Lee's horse near that village. A bridge separate the two parties & some shot were exchanged over it. Our cavalry then charged the Rebels, who immediately gave way & were pursued up Gaillard's Road which leads towards Monk's Corner. In the flight three or four of the Rebels were killed...None of our party were either killed or wounded." Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 1/2 inches, very nice condition.

Pages 2 & 3 contains a letter from South Carolina concerning: "...a minute detail of barbarities exercised in this state by his Britannic Majesty's forces...". Other news items and ads from this interesting period at the end of the Revolutionary War and before the creation of the federal government. Four pages, archivally rejoined at the spine, various small tears & very minor chipping at the margins wit small archival mends here.
