Offered is an original, historic, & collectible old newspaper: THE STAR, Guernsey, Channel Islands, Aug. 15, 1944 * Rare German occupation title * World War II - WWII Among the front page reports are: "Telling Blows at the Invasion Fleet by German Navy" "How Heroic Garison of St. Malo Defy Americans" "Call to Surrender Ignored" " "Distrust of Britain" and more. Four pages, minor flow n the upper left corner, good condition. This newspaper was published on this island in the English Channel and was occupied by the Germans during most of WWII, from July 1, 1940 through May 9, 1945. During the Nazi occupation they took over this newspaper and filled it with pro-German propaganda, offering a unique insight into how the Axis reported the news during the war.
