This issue includes reports from France, Prussia, Austria, Spain, Portugal, "The East" and "The Late Duke of Orleans". There are other "Miscellaneous Items" as well including a report on: "Ballooning at Matanzas". Even foxing throughout, very nice condition. 15 by 19 3/4 inches.

This was a pivotal battle in the 1708 campaign of the War of Spanish Succession. Verifying the date is the issue of "The London Gazette" dated September 23 - 27, 1708 which was attached to this broadside and is offered separately. Colonial currency: Pennsylvania, three pence note dated April 10, 1777. A decorative border plus an engraving of the Penna. coat-of-arms along with the text. The reverse has: "To counterfeit is DEATH" along with "Three Pence, Philadelphia, printed by John Dunlap" and the year 1777. John Dunlap was also the printer of the Declaration of Independence. One signature, measures 2 1/4 by 2 3/4 inches, minor rubbing, generally good condition.

This document has a lengthy list of military ordnance and accoutrements with penned notations of the quantity accounted for (see photos). MEXICAN WAR MAP A very unusual item, being a large-size, measuring 20 by 32 1/2 inches, map titled: "Map of Genl. Worth's Operations on the 20th of Aug. 1847" which shows the vicinity form San Antonio (Mexico) to Churubusco including some nice details. The inset in the lower right notes in part: "The two fronts of attack of the bridge head fort were bastioned fronts, proportioned as the books require. The 'Exterior side' of the south front has 75 yds. & the east from 100 yds..." with more (see). The paper upon which this map is printed is of heavier stock than normal and has an archival overlay on the back for added strength & protection. Rare broadside from London titled: "Mr. Boyer's CASE: and His Undoubted Right and Title to the Writing of the True Post-Boy, Asserted". As a bit of background, in May, 1695 Roper started a newspaper called the 'Post Boy,' which appeared three times a week, and was the rival of the Whig 'Flying Post'. Roper's enemies said he wrote for either party, according as he was paid. John Dunton, who commends Roper's honesty, says that the 'Post Boy' was written by a man named Thomas, and on his death by Abel Boyer. After editing the 'Post Boy' for Roper for four years, Boyer grew dissatisfied and started a 'True Post Boy' of his own, which, he complained, Roper tried to stop.
